Update!

Unfortunately from what I think to be not packing the clay hard enough, it split from the eyes down... so the rest of the face is... way too low. I didn't have time to fix it all the way, though, so I'm probably just going to let it be for a while 'til it gets a little more dry. I guess it looks more like the model, I don't know. I didn't make the hair big enough haha

Skull

So I was going to wait to post anything 'til I had more than just my skull to post, but I got really excited about it after we started to add the skin. Doesn't it look awesome!? I mean, I'm not one to toot my own horn, but I thought this was great. Probably because we were actually building up using the basics of a skeleton. Now, I realize that I put the orbitals way too close together, and the left cheek is underdeveloped compared to the right, but I thought that it overall looked very similar to the model. Of course, there's a large possibility that if I ever wished to fire it, it would explode because I didn't pack the clay into the orbitals as well as I probably could have, but I figure when we go to scoop out the innards, I'll have a chance to puncture some of the air pockets. I'll be able to glaze it then too! Maybe my calling is portraiture. I enjoyed this much more than I enjoyed the reclining figure.
